The roundtable luncheon is hosted by the Competitive Enterprise Institute and Reason Foundation, and will focus on public policy challenges related to autonomous vehicle technology. Bryant Walker Smith, a fellow at the Center for Internet and Society at Stanford Law School and the Center for Automotive Research at Stanford, will be joining us as our special guest.

Bryant authored the first comprehensive study on autonomous vehicle legality in the United States, and is the nation’s leading scholar on the legislative and regulatory issues related to automated vehicle technology. As you know, the social implications of autonomous vehicles are enormous: great reductions in accidents and congestion, greatly enhanced individual mobility for the disabled, along with air quality improvements, are expected to materialize when consumer models become available. Disruptive new business models such as driverless ride-sharing are also on the way—provided politicians and bureaucrats don’t overregulate.

Due to space constraints, registration is closed.
