FEATURE: CEI Joins Dodd-Frank Lawsuit
CEI joined two other plaintiffs yesterday in a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of Dodd-Frank, the sweeping financial reform law that gives unprecedented powers to the government. CEI General Counsel Sam Kazman said, ""Dodd-Frank is to financial reform like a tsunami is to a slightly dry lawn — all-enveloping, hugely destructive, and pretty much unaccountable to whoever unleashed it." The heart of the ruling is that people should not be compelled to pay for political speech with which they disagree. Just as people may not be forcibly silenced, nor can they be forced to speak.
