One solution to this problem comes from the Competitive Enterprise Institute [3], a “free-market” conservative think tank in Washington, D.C. CEI has proposed [4] that a “Regulatory Reduction Committee” be established to reduce frivolous regulations. This committee would provide a yearly package of proposed regulatory reductions to be voted on by Congress, thereby giving our lawmakers the ability to repeal regulations.
