IPCC CLIMATE REPORT - MYRON EBELL
Disappointed in results that show the warming trends of the 1990s seem to have ended, the environmental left has stepped up efforts to whitewash a key document that will become part of the next report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
The spin already has begun, said Myron Ebell, director of the Center for Energy and Environment at the Competitive Enterprise Institute (cei.org) in Washington. But the facts don’t change. The world has not warmed in any significant way in the last 16 years, and the threats from ocean levels rising and other alleged problems are supremely overblown, he said.
OBAMA REGS v OBAMA REGS - IAIN MURRAY
In total, the refining industry has spent about $400 for every U.S. citizen in compliance with environmental regulations. Yet the regulations keep on coming. It is time for the administration to step back and review just what its regulations are achieving or meant to achieve. Looking at the contradictory regulations ... would be a very good place to start.
For instance, CAFE regulations require higher fuel efficiency from automobiles. Yet the Renewable Fuel Standard, which mandates the use of less efficient ethanol, reduces fuel efficiency.
DESPERATE CLIMATE REPORTS - MARLO LEWIS
A last-ditch effort to refute climate “skeptics”—people unconvinced that we need to spend trillions to reshape our economies to halt or slow “climate change”-- has failed.
Last week, the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) published a study by 13 prestigious atmospheric scientists that supposedly provides “clear evidence for a discernible human influence on the thermal structure of the atmosphere.”
