Washington, DC, November 13, 2000 – The Competitive Enterprise Institute announced today that Solveig Singleton has joined the staff as Senior Analyst. At CEI, Solveig will address privacy issues, particularly financial privacy, with an emphasis on the implications of proposed regulations for consumers and small business. She will also continue her work on telecommunications, and is available to comment on topics such as wireless spectrum reform and auctions, the digital divide and universal services, “open access” rules, and FCC reform. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Prior to coming to CEI, Ms. Singleton served as Director of Information Studies at the Cato Institute. She also currently serves at the vice chairman for publications for the Telecommunications and Electronic Media Practice Group of the Federalist Society for Law & Public Policy Studies. She has also worked as an attorney specializing in telecommunications policy at the firm of Kellogg, Huber, Hansen & Todd.
Ms. Singleton holds an undergraduate degree in philosophy from Reed College of Portland, Oregon, and graduated cum laude from Cornell Law School. She is the co-editor (with Daniel T.
