Day 22: I welcome aboard a new member of my production team. One of the most important components of my 30-day diet adventures is documenting my eating habits for the full month. That means three meals a day every day I have to either photograph or film what I am eating and any food I leave on my plate. I usually accomplish this on my own; however, I do appreciate the help of those who willingly take the video or still camera for me to help with the project. But this film is more than just my eating breakfast sandwiches, fries and McFlurry’s at McDonalds. I am hoping to create a piece that will get people thinking.
Because I would like to create a compelling work, I’ve invited Jonathan Zuck of Rhetoricorp (www.rhetoricorp.com ) to help me with the editing of my film project which we hope to have finished by the end of May. My only hope is that this film will help to influence people in a positive way. I’m not looking to become the newest diet guru or new age nutritionist, the real message here is personal responsibility and what an incredible impact it can have on one’s well being and lifestyle.
Unfortunately, I still have no title for my piece. So, I have opened up the door to suggestions from the general public. WOKQ radio in the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />New England area will be running a “Name the Film Contest” so I can consider some different ideas for a title. As soon as I have a link, we’ll post it at the CEI website along with details. Please keep in mind that I prefer a clever, witty title, but let fly your suggestions, and thanks in advance for your help.
I have been staying in College Park, MD during my visit to DC and was impressed with the U. of Maryland theme of the local McDonalds. They also offered 99 cent, overnight DVD rentals at a kiosk at the front door of the store. Another note: super sizing was still in effect, as I’ve found in other locations. The Super Size option has not gone the way of the dinosaurs, quite the contrary it is still alive and well in some locations depending on popularity. So I hope Mr. Spurlock does not plan to promote the elimination of the Super Size option at McDonalds while on the press junket for the film, because I can assure you that it is very much alive and well.
