    Hans’ prior casework included suits involving the First Amendment, federalism, and civil rights issues. He graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in economics and history, and later earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School.

    John has written about the impact of public policy on entrepreneurship for publications like Wall Street Journal, Barron's, Investor's Business Daily. He graduated from the University of Missouri with degrees in journalism and economics.

    Daniel Compton joined CEI in 2010 and currently serves as an officer in CEI’s development department.

    Senior Fellow

    Mr. Conko’s expertise is in food and drug regulation, biotechnology, agriculture and agricultural trade, and the general treatment of health and environmental risks in public policy. He is co-founder and VP of AgBioWorld Foundation.

  • Clyde Wayne Crews

    Vice President for Policy, Director of Technology Studies

    Mr. Crews’ work includes regulatory reform, antitrust policy, safety and environmental issues, and various information-age concerns like privacy, broadband, and intellectual property. He has testified before several congressional committees.

  • Myron Ebell

    Director, Center for Energy and Environment

    Myron Ebell is director of energy and global warming policy at CEI. He also serves as director of Freedom Action, a web-based grassroots activist organization loosely affiliated with CEI, and chairs the Cooler Heads Coalition, which comprises over two dozen non-profit groups in this country and abroad that question global warming alarmism and oppose energy rationing policies.

    William Frezza writes on a variety of topics, including regulatory reform, crony capitalism, tax policy, “green” government mandates, and ways to restore US economic leadership.

  • Christine Hall

    Director of Communications

    Prior to joining CEI, Ms. Hall was a reporter with CNS News, reporting on economics and politics. Ms. Hall also served as a policy analyst for Steve Forbes's 2000 presidential campaign, a social security policy analyst for former Rep. Mark Sanford.

  • Christopher C. Horner

    Senior Fellow, Center for Energy and Environment

    As an attorney, Horner has represented CEI, scientists, and Members of the U.S. Congress on matters of environmental policy in the federal courts including the Supreme Court. He is the author of two best-selling books on global warming policy.

  • Sam Kazman

    General Counsel

    In addition to being CEI’s General Counsel, Mr. Kazman heads CEI’s Death By Regulation project. This project focuses on raising public awareness of the often hidden costs of government overregulation.

    Policy Analyst

    Trey Kovacs is a Policy Analyst at CEI. He focuses on economic impacts of labor and finance policy. His research areas include public sector unions, labor policy reform, and employer rights.

  • Marlo Lewis, Jr.

    Mr. Lewis writes on global warming, energy policy, and other public policy issues. Prior to joining CEI in April 2002, he served as Director of External Relations at the Reason Foundation.

    Ms. Logomasini conducts research and analysis on environmental regulatory issues. She is co-editor of CEI’s Environmental Source, and she has published articles in Wall Street Journal, the New York Post, the Washington Times, and other papers.

    Ms. Minton is CEI's Fellow in Consumer Policy Studies. Before joining CEI she worked in the advertising field managing the production of video advertisements.

    Mr. Murray is Vice President for Strategy at CEI. He is the author of the best-selling book on environmental policy, "The Really Inconvenient Truths," and specializes in energy, environment, finance, trade, and science and technology policy.

    Alex Nowrasteh is a policy analyst at the Competitive Enterprise Institute.  His writings, in numerous forms, have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Times, The Los Angeles Times, and other publications.

    Matt Patterson is the 2011-2012 Warren T. Brookes Journalism Fellow. Patterson has written on a wide range of public policy issues, such as global warming, Medicare and healthcare, and labor union politics.

    As associate director of technology studies, Ryan Radia focuses on adapting law and public policy to the unique challenges of the information age. His research areas include information privacy, intellectual property, electronic speech, competition policy, telecommunications, media regulation, and Internet freedom.

    Marc focuses on land-use and mobility issues, as well as regional and urban economic policy. His research interests include eminent domain, entrepreneurship, zoning, public finance, transit, intercity passenger transportation, civil aviation, freight transport, economic redevelopment, and property rights.

    Senior Manager of Communications

    Drew Tidwell is the Senior Manager of the Communications Department. He comes to CEI after a long career in television and film production. After graduating from The George Washington University in 1994 and obtaining his Masters Degree in TV/Radio Production from Southern Methodist University in 1996, Drew served as a production coordinator in the television and film industry in New York City.

    F. Vincent Vernuccio is Labor Policy Counsel at the Competitive Enterprise Institute. He is an attorney and labor consultant.

    William Yeatman is on the energy and global warming team. Prior to joining CEI, William was a Peace Corps volunteer in the Kyrgyz Republic, where he taught entrepreneurship and small business management to rural women.

    Ryan Young is Fellow in Regulatory Studies at the Competitive Enterprise Institute. His writings communicate ideas from economics and classical liberal political theory in layman’s terms. He has covered issues ranging from airplane baggage restrictions to fiscal stimulus to salary caps in baseball.
