About The Role

The Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI) seeks a Salesforce Administrator to execute data management, conduct data quality checks, suggest improvements to enhance data accuracy, and provide insights into data trends, performance metrics, and key indicators for our Communications, Events, and Philanthropy teams. The role is most suitable for an individual with three to five years direct Salesforce experience in data analysis, data management, and data entry. Flexibility, team cooperation, an ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a deep attention to detail are all essential.

This position will report to the Executive Assistant to the President and will work across departments on their Salesforce administration and data analytics needs. There is opportunity for growth in this position, with respect to both additional responsibilities and greater autonomy in work. And CEI often prefers to hire for new positions from within the organization.

The Salesforce Administrator is expected to work out of CEI’s downtown Washington, DC office.

Responsibilities

  • Data Entry and Maintenance:
    • Enter and update donor information, including contact details, demographics, and interactions into the Salesforce system.
    • Accurately input data from various sources, such as email, forms, and documents, into the appropriate fields within Salesforce.
    • Perform regular data cleaning and validation tasks to eliminate duplicate or outdated records.
    • Ensure data integrity by conducting regular audits and resolving discrepancies.
    • Maintain data hygiene standards, adhering to best practices and organizational guidelines.
    • Setup and maintain dynamic lists between Salesforce and Pardot/Account Engagement email client.
    • Verify the accuracy and completeness of data entered into Salesforce, cross-referencing with documents or other information.
  • Reporting and Analysis:
    • Provide data support for sales forecasting by building campaigns and creating dashboards.
    • Generate standard and ad hoc reports; providing insights to data trends, performance metrics, and key indicators.
    • Build campaigns with geographical criteria using the Geopointe application in Salesforce. 
    • Analyze data to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for process optimization and improved business outcomes.
  • Documentation and Training:
    • Document data entry processes, guidelines, and standard operating procedures.
    • Provide ongoing support and guidance to users regarding data entry best practices and Salesforce functionalities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience. Salesforce certification a plus.
  • Three to five years direct experience in data entry, data management, and data analysis within the Salesforce environment.
  • Proficiency in using Salesforce CRM, Geopointe, and related data entry tools.
  • Pardot/Account Engagement CRM experience preferred.      
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
  • A positive attitude, a team player, and the ability to achieve set targets.
