Commentary Roundup

Lots of good commentary in today’s newspapers. In the Financial Times, Columbia University economist (and Friend of CEI) Jagdish Bhagwati notes that rumors of the free trade perspective’s demise among economists has been greatly exaggerated. And, also in the FT, economist John Kay debunks the notion of “scientific consensus.”

Over in the other Times (by which I mean the Washington Times, of course), my colleague Erin Wildermuth and I have a piece on why the new Food and Drug Administration Amendments Act, recently passed by Congress and signed by President Bush, is bad for patients. And my friend and some-time co-author, Henry Miller, has a piece on the same topic in the new issue of Policy Review co-written with his Hoover Institution colleague David Henderson.
