$15 Minimum Wage Vote Today

POLITICO’s Morning Shift cites CEI’s coalition letter opposing a $15 minimum wage.

An analysis from the Congressional Budget Office estimated that the original version of the minimum wage bill would cost about 1.3 million jobs by 2025 but would give raises to 17 million workers. Pro-business groups, including the Competitive Enterprise Institute and the Job Creators Network, sent letters to members of Congress urging them to vote against the bill. “The biggest consequence of a $15 minimum wage is the one that’s hardest to measure: a weakened first rung of the career ladder, which is so important to teach employees the skills necessary to climb it,” the letter from the Job Creators Network read.
