The Competitive Enterprise Institute joined a coalition of free-market organizations in writing a letter to aviation leaders of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee to support forthcoming efforts to corporatize air traffic control. The letter also urges members of Congress to consider needed reforms to airport financing. Specifically, the coalition recommends uncapping the Passenger Facility Charge (PFC) local airport user fee as a means to transition away from federal airport grants, which rely on a complicated and unfair series of aviation taxes.
