The House Select Committee appointed by Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) to address climate change today released their report and proposal.

Director of CEI’s Center for Energy and Environment Myron Ebell said:

“House Democrats claim there is a climate crisis that demands immediate action, yet their Select Committee on the Climate Crisis has dilly-dallied for over a year to produce a list of shopworn proposals that would benefit special interests at the expense of consumers and taxpayers. It’s a ridiculously wasteful plan, and what’s even more ridiculous is that there are no plans to vote on it. That’s because House Democratic leaders know that energy-rationing policies and carbon taxes that would raise the price of electricity and gasoline are not popular with the American people.”
