INTERNET TRANSFORMATION PANEL

Where have we been, where are we now, and where do we need to go to transform our communications networks to an all-IP infrastructure?

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 16th

10:00am – 12:00pm

MANDARIN ORIENTAL HOTEL

Gallery Room

1330 Maryland Avenue Southwest

Washington, DC 20024

FEATURING INTRODUCTORY REMARKS BY

FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai

The world is transitioning communications networks from the outdated analog and digital technologies of the past to modern all-IP infrastructure. The transition to Internet-based communications networks is transforming markets, cultures, and even governments. The United States was once the undisputed leader of this transformation, but our traditional advantages in the information and communications technology sector are eroding. Bureaucratic inertia and regulatory uncertainty are inhibiting investment in new IP-infrastructure and services in the United States while investment in Asia is surging. This panel will discuss how our current regulatory structure developed, the challenges it presents today, and options for accelerating Internet transformation in the future.

Please note that breakfast will be served.
