The Competitive Enterprise Institute is a non-profit public policy organization dedicated to advancing the principles of limited government, free enterprise, and individual liberty. CEI’s mission is to promote both freedom and fairness by making good policy good politics. CEI promotes economic freedom as we believe this principle is essential for entrepreneurship, innovation, and prosperity to flourish.
CEI takes a full-service approach to advancing public policy. We publish original scholarly studies that make the case for an issue, but our work doesn’t end there. Using a foundation of solid research, CEI crafts advocacy campaigns in order to reach policy makers, influential opinion leaders, and grassroots activists. CEI policy analysts produce timely commentaries for major news organizations, appear on television and radio programs, and engage with other experts who cover our key policy areas.
The Competitive Enterprise Institute internship program gives interested students and recent college graduates the opportunity to learn about and promote the principles of limited government, free enterprise, and individual liberty. We pair interns with members of CEI’s staff for a direct mentorship experience.
CEI offers unpaid internships. Upon being interviewed, exceptional applicants may be offered a stipend. CEI may offer a stipend to students so long as the following criteria are met:
- Interns cannot be paid by an outside source for their participation in the internship program.
- They are not receiving academic credit for CEI’s intern program
- Interns applying to CEI through one of our partner organizations will not be considered for a stipend
