<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = “urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags” />Washington, DC; April 5, 2004 — The National Consumer Coalition and its Cooler Heads Coalition are announcing an updated version of their web site, www.globalwarming.org.

The site, which was started in 1996 and receives millions of hits, has been recreated to provide improved usability and better content for its visitors.

The new web site contains a searchable archive of the Cooler Heads Newsletter, dating back to 1996, and offers users the chance to subscribe to the newsletter.  This bi-weekly publication analyzes climate change news and events through scientific, economic and political perspectives.

Globalwarming.org addresses global and local climate change policies and the effects they would have on the economies of the US and other countries.  Visitors can find up-to-date news on global warming issues from around the world.  The site also includes documents examining factors that may affect climate change.  In addition, the site features a section for students as well as news and information on the Kyoto Protocol and climate change.

The Cooler Heads Coalition was formed in 1996 to advance sound science and dispel the myths of global warming by exposing flawed economic, scientific, and risk analysis.  The National Consumer Coalition (NCC), founded by Consumer Alert, is a group of market-oriented national and state-level nonprofit groups, which focus on consumer issues in the policy arena.  Jointly representing over 2,000,000 individuals, the NCC currently includes 24 member groups.
