J. Caleb Johnson
Caleb Johnson is an adjunct scholar at the Competitive Enterprise Institute where he studies the intersection of finance and regulation, specifically as it pertains to the value of financial products to consumers. In addition to his work at CEI, Johnson chairs the steering committee for the DC chapter of the Quantitative Work Alliance for Applied Finance, Education and Wisdom (QWAFAFEW), a group of quantitative finance analysts and academics. Johnson brings years of applied finance experience to CEI, managing a portfolio of commodity derivatives as the co-director of a private-managed futures vehicle based in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Johnson is also the Associate Director of the Transnational Threats Project at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), which conducts targeted fieldwork in some of the world’s most violent and contested areas to assess terror, insurgent, and criminal networks, as well as the impact of government responses to these challenges. TNT’s work is highly-valued by the intelligence community, policymakers, and security leaders around the world.
Before joining CSIS, Johnson was the Deputy Director of External Affairs at CEI. He is also an active chamber musician.
