Senior Fellow

Matt Patterson is Senior Fellow at CEI's Center For Economic Freedom, specializing in labor policy. In 2011-2012, he served as CEI's Warren T. Brookes Journalism Fellow.

Patterson has written on a wide range of public policy issues, such as global warming, healthcare, and the debt crisis, in addition to labor union politics. He has been published in The Washington Post, New York Post, Washington Examiner, Washington Times, Baltimore Sun, FoxNews.com, and National Review Online, among many others. His work has been cited on-air by Sean Hannity, and featured on The Drudge Report, RealClearPolitics, RushLimbaugh.com, and others.

From 2010 to 2012, Patterson served as Senior Editor at the Capital Research Center in Washington, DC, where he oversaw the publications Labor Watch and Green Watch. Previously, he served as a Washington Fellow at the National Review Institute, Research Assistant for Charles Krauthammer, and Health Policy Analyst for the National Center for Public Policy Research. Patterson aslo served as Colorado State Political Coordinator and Policy Communications Coordinator for the Rudy Giuliani presidential campaign in 2008. He is the author of the book, Union of Hearts: The Abraham Lincoln & Ann Rutledge Story, and a contributor to Proud to be Right: Voices of the Next Conservative Generation (HarperCollins, 2010).

In 2007 Patterson graduated from Columbia University in New York City, where he studied Greek and Latin."
