Lene Johansen is the current Warren T. Brookes Journalism Fellow at
Competitive Enterprise Institute. Her focus is on science and
biotechnology policy, and she is working on a book on the human cost of
plant biotechnology regulation. In addition to this, Johansen is
engaged in the climate change debate.

Her work has appeared
in the American Spectator, Press-Enterprise, St. Louis Business Journal
and other local Missouri papers. Her radio reporting has been picked up
by the NPR’s Midwest desk, and she has
appeared as an expert on a range of shows including the Roger Hedgecock
Show, Mancow, and the Thom Hartman Show. She has appeared regularly on TV2 in Norway and on Fox Business.

Johansen is the Washington stringer for ABC Nyheter
and the political magazine Minerva in Norway. Her essays appear in
political science textbooks for Norwegian high schools and in Joe
Bast’s Please, Don’t Poop in My Salad! She translated Frederic
Bastiat’s the Law to Norwegian and have an extensive translation
experience which includes English, Norwegian, and Swedish..

Johansen
is Norwegian by birth, and is finishing up her MA in Journalism from
the Missouri School of Journalism. Her undergraduate degree is from the
University of Oslo, Norway. She is a partner in the Swedish think tank
Eudoxa. She lived in India for a while during the mid-90’s and she
emigrated from Norway to the U.S. in 2001.
