Cord Blomquist
Senior Communications Director

Cord Blomquist is the Competitive Enterprise Institute's Senior Communications Director.  CEI has always sought to expand the traditional think tank model and its Communications Department takes this challenge seriously.  CEI has become a leader in new media outreach, promoting free market ideals via websites, blogs, email newsletters, social networking, and yes, even Twitter.

Cord's analytical work focuses on media ownership rules, antitrust policy as it relates to high technology, broadband regulation, and competition rules like network neutrality.

Cord has appeared on nationally syndicated radio programs such as The Thom Hartmann Program and The G. Gordon Liddy Show. He has been featured on C-SPAN’s “The Communicators,” a weekly series featuring a half-hour interview with the people who shape our digital future.

His work has appeared in National Journal's Technology Daily, American.com, The American Spectator, and TCS Daily.

He has been cited by news outlets such as CNET News, The Wall Street Journal's All Things D, ArsTechnica, and TechDirt.

Cord blogs at the Technology Liberation Front, a group blog of free-market technology policy experts.  Cord's blog can be found at cordblomquist.com.

Prior to joining CEI, Cord worked as a legislative assistant covering technology and government reform issues for Congressman Mark Green. Cord earned his B.A. in philosophy from the University Minnesota.
