Associate Director of Technology Studies, Information Policy Analyst

Ryan Radia focuses on adapting law and public policy to the unique challenges of the information age. His research areas include electronic privacy, network regulation, antitrust and competition policy, spectrum management, free speech, and media ownership.

Radia’s opinion essays have appeared in publications including Forbes, The Seattle Times, The Star Ledger, FOXNews.com, San Jose Mercury News, Multichannel News, and The Des Moines Register. He is a frequent guest of television and radio programs such as Fox Business Network’s Cavuto, Newsmax.TV, Radio America’s The G. Gordon Liddy Show, and Compass Media’s Lars Larson Show. Ryan’s research has been cited in the San Francisco Chronicle, PC World, Investor’s Business Daily, NetworkWorld, E-Commerce Times, and in numerous other publications.

Ryan is a frequent contributor to the Technology Liberation Front, the technology policy blog dedicated to preserving freedom and liberty in the information age. His ideas have been referenced by technology writers including Farhad Manjoo of Slate, Andrew Sullivan of The Atlantic’s Daily Dish and Mike Masnick of Techdirt.

Radia earned a B.A. in economics and political science from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Prior to joining CEI, he worked for a captive insurance consultancy in West Des Moines, Iowa.
