Bloggers will be able to apply for full-time jobs with the company, but many moonlight. The same goes for thousands of other contractors who will soon have less flexibility to manage their work schedules and fewer opportunities to work due to the enormous labor costs AB 5 imposes on businesses. A Competitive Enterprise Institute study this week estimates that reclassifying Uber drivers as employees would cost the company more than $21,000 per worker and increase fares by between 30% to 50%.
