Ryan Radia is a research associate in the policy department at the Competitive Enterprise Institute.
Radia’s primary area of research is technology policy, where he focuses on online privacy, electronic speech, spectrum allocation, and telecom regulation. He is a frequent contributor to the Technology Liberation Front, a leading libertarian tech policy blog dedicated to keeping politicians’ hands off the Net.
In addition to technology policy, Ryan researches risk and regulatory policy, among other topics. He is also a member of CEI’s development team, where he cultivates donor relationships and encourages philanthropic investment.
Ryan’s opinion essays have been published in newspapers including the Star-Ledger, San Jose Mercury News, Hartford Courant, Philadelphia Bulletin and the Des Moines Register. His writing has also appeared in TCS Daily, Local Tech Wire, and Heartland Info Tech & Telecom News. His research has been cited in publications such as Investor’s Business Daily and E-Commerce Times. Ryan has appeared on WGKA’s Morning in Atlanta, a radio program hosted by Joel Aaron.
He earned a B.A. in economics and political science from Northwestern University. Prior to joining CEI in 2007, Ryan worked at Innovative Captive Strategies in West Des Moines, Iowa.
