Trump push to slash regulatory red tape opens a crucial chapter

CEI’s Clyde Wayne Crews was cited regarding regulatory reform under the Trump administration in Bloomberg Law.

Clyde Wayne Crews, a regulatory studies fellow at the Competitive Enterprise Institute, said the second Trump administration has learned lessons from the first term when it comes to facing the courts.

“In the first administration, they quickly came out with revocations and freezes, and there were complaints that they had done it too fast—they hadn’t done the legal groundwork that they needed to justify the rollbacks,” Crews said. “Remember, people have been working on this new agenda for a potential second administration for a long, long time. They’ve been studying this stuff now for six years.”
