Raising a Glass to Repeal Day

This week we celebrated the 84^th anniversary of the end of Prohibition with Repeal Day.

Our friends at Reason TV, never ones to miss out on a holiday involving alcohol and freedom, came out with a new video, “How Government Almost Killed the Cocktail,” starring former CEI assistant editorial director Peter Suderman.

CEI’s own Repeal Day efforts included a policy panel and lunch with distinguished guests from North Carolina. Kory Swanson, president of the John Locke Foundation, and his colleague John Francis Trump, editor of the Foundation’s publication Carolina Journal, joined myself and CEI president Kent Lassman for a screening of our film I, Whiskey: The Human Spirit, and a discussion of John’s new book Still & Barrel: Craft Spirits in the Old North State.
