RealClear Radio Hour: Criminal Justice Reform

This week’s guests make uniquely compelling arguments for comprehensive criminal justice reform.

My first guest this week is Dorsey Nunn, Executive Director of Legal Services for Prisoners with Children and Co-founder of All of Us or None. Dorsey speaks firsthand about the challenges of reentering the workforce post-incarceration and argues that current laws peddle fear and encourage recidivism. He makes the case for reforms encouraging rehabilitation and opportunity such as the Ban the Box campaign he helped launch.

Up next is Marc Levin, Policy Director for Right on Crime and Director of the Center for Effective Justice at the Texas Public Policy Foundation. Marc advocates sweeping reforms to fix our failing criminal justice system. Using structured incentives based on metrics like reduced recidivism rates and increased restitution for victims, he demonstrates how reforms can maximize public safety while strengthening communities and easing the taxpayer burden.

You can hear the discussion by listening to the full show as-aired on iTunes, or you can check out the podcasts hosted on YouTube and SoundCloud. Make sure to check back next week for another episode of RealClear Radio Hour.
