RealClear Radio Hour: Innovation Economy & State Fiscal Breakdown

This week on RealClear Radio Hour, guests Garrett Johnson and Eileen Norcross explain the importance of developing a more technologically nimble and fiscally responsible government.

First up is Garrett Johnson, co-founder of SendHub and the Lincoln Initiative. Garrett shares how he and his colleagues are working with the tech community to “lobby for the future,” fighting against regulatory and licensing barriers that threaten to block next generation Uber-style breakthroughs.

My second guest is Eileen Norcross, Director of the State and Local Policy Project at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University, discussing her 2016 report ranking states’ fiscal solvency. Eileen points to Puerto Rico, Connecticut, and Illinois as cautionary tales and blames profligate state governments for mismanaging debt and unfunded pension liabilities.

You can hear the discussion by listening to the full show as-aired on iTunes, or you can check out the podcasts hosted on YouTube and SoundCloud. Make sure to check back next week for another episode of RealClear Radio Hour.
