RealClear Radio Hour: U.S. Constitutionalist and Soviet Dissident

In this episode of RealClear Radio Hour, we contrast constitutionalism and socialism. John Eastman honors the late Justice Antonin Scalia and discusses his revival of originalist Constitutional interpretation and former Soviet apparatchik, Yuri Maltsev, exposes the deadly horrors and comic absurdities of the former U.S.S.R.

My first guest this week is Dr. John Eastman, founding director of the Claremont Institute’s Center for Constitutional Jurisprudence and former law clerk for Justice Clarence Thomas. Eastman touts Antonin Scalia’s restoration of originalism and analyzes the impact of his absence on the recent docket of Supreme Court cases.

Up next is Dr. Yuri Maltsev, professor of economics at Carthage College and former senior economic advisor to Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev’s perestroika reforms. Maltsev reveals the brutal and bizarre realities of growing up in the Soviet Union, including the myth of socialism “with a human face.”

You can hear the discussion by listening to the full show as-aired on iTunes, or you can check out the podcasts hosted on YouTube and SoundCloud. Make sure to check back next week for another episode of RealClear Radio Hour.
