San Francisco Hijack Illustrates Problem with Muni Wi-Fi

Today, a network administrator for the city of San Francisco was arrested for “taking control of the city’s computer network and locking administrators out,” reports CNET News. Good thing it was just city records that were breached, not the information of everyone in the city. If cities can’t manage their own networks and IT employees, how bad will problems get when they expand the networks to cover all of us too?

It just illustrates Cord Blomquist’s point that muni wi-fi doesn’t have the right incentives to provide secure networks.
