CEI questions Trump’s deregulatory agenda

The Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI), the libertarian group that has long opposed EPA and other agencies’ rules, is charging that President Trump’s tariffs and other economic interventions threaten to undermine the cost-savings of his administration’s deregulatory agenda at EPA and other agencies. CEI April 9 issued its annual federal regulatory review report , “Ten Thousand Commandments, 2026,” which found that federal regulations still cost the U.S. economy at least $2.153 trillion annually, averaging $15,859 cost per household.
