— Conservative groups urge crackdown on farm subsidies: More than a dozen conservative groups are urging lawmakers to support major changes to the House farm bill to tackle the “out of control farm subsidy system.” In a letter to Congress, the groups say the bill “not only fails to make reforms to farm subsidies, but actually makes the subsidies even worse.” The letter was signed by Heritage Action, which came out against the House version of the farm bill on Tuesday, as well as groups like Competitive Enterprise Institute, Club for Growth, R Street Institute and Taxpayers for Common Sense.
