Iran truce eases oil prices, but inflation risks remain
Senior Economist Ryan Young is quoted by the National Desk regarding the impact of the Iran conflict on energy prices.
“We’re seeing a kind of ratchet effect with energy prices. We had that big spike, and it’s coming down now, but it’s not going to go back down all the way until we have stability in Iran for six months or a year,” said Ryan Young, senior economist at the Competitive Enterprise Institute. “We don’t know what’s going to happen with tolls or any other obstacles that Iran might put in the way, which means that even if things are coming down from that initial spike and people are adjusting, it’s still going to stay high until at least next year.”
