OneNewsNow sought comment from William Yeatman, a senior fellow specializing in energy policy for the Competitive Enterprise Institute. Yeatman says he's not "thrilled" that government has the ability to claim property but acknowledges such power is in the U.S. Constitution.

"So it's a balancing act, one that is divorced from the president's decision whether the pipeline is in the national interest," he says.
