President Trump has shown a strong commitment to deregulation during his first eight months in office, claiming the title of least regulatory president since Ronald Reagan, according to a new and disputed analysis from the Competitive Enterprise Institute.

The Federal Register — the government publication where all proposed and final rules are listed — currently stands at 45,678 pages, according to the analysis from the conservative think tank.

That’s a 33 percent reduction from last year at this time, when President Obama’s Federal Register stood at 67,900 pages.
