Today, the Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI) announced that White House Budget Director Mick Mulvaney will keynote its 2018 Annual Dinner and Reception on June 28 in Washington, D.C.

CEI President & CEO Kent Lassman said the following about the announcement:

“Director Mulvaney is quietly, but forcefully, building guardrails for an out-of-control regulatory state. He is leading a transformation in how many Americans interact with their government,” said Lassman. “By streamlining and shrinking the federal bureaucracy, Mulvaney is paving the way for more capital investment, freeing workers from wasteful compliance exercises, and making it possible for all of us to have more opportunities and choices in our daily lives. We at CEI are thrilled with his progress so far.”

National Review’s Jonah Goldberg will be the master of ceremonies and CEI will honor economist and passionate property rights activist Hernando de Soto with the 2018 Julian L. Simon Memorial Award at the event.
