Loren Lomasky is a professor of philosophy at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. He is best known for his work in moral and political philosophy. His book Persons, Rights, and the Moral Community (Oxford University Press, 1987) established his reputation as a leading advocate of a rights-based approach to moral and social issues. He co-authored with G. Brennan Democracy and Decision ThePure Theory of Electoral Preference (Cambridge University Press, 1993) and co-edited with G. Brennan Politics and Process: New Essays in Democratic Theory, (Cambridge University Press, 1989).
