When
Airports Council International – North America invites you to attend a Beyond the Runway Coalition Briefing during Infrastructure Week 2016. The briefing will cover airport finance, free market solutions to airport funding, and job creation. CEI fellow Marc Scribner will talk about the prospect of Congress raising the cap on the passenger facility charge, which is a local airport user charge authorized by Congress. It is currently capped at $4.50 per passenger enplanement, for a maximum of two enplanements per trip, where it has been since 2000. Since then, inflation has eroded its buying power by approximately 50 percent. Scribner argues that this user fee is preferable to taxpayer funding.
Come learn about these economic engines that support $1.1 trillon of our economy and the importance to passing a long term FAA Reauthorization bill that meets current and future airport capital needs.
