Please join the Competitive Enterprise Institute for a lunch conversation with the Credit Union National Association’s Jim Nussle and Michael Schenk on member-owned credit unions and their role in the sharing economy and traditional financial market. Nussle and Schenk will discuss the unique burdens credit unions face from the red tape of Dodd-Frank legislation and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and how they are successfully rallying their members to fight back against the regulatory state. CEI Senior Fellow John Berlau will moderate the discussion.

The Credit Union National Association (CUNA) advocates on behalf of over 6,000 credit unions and more than 100 million credit union members.

Jim Nussle is President and CEO of CUNA. A native Iowan, Nussle represented the Hawkeye State in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1991-2007 and served as chairman of the House Budget Committee. In 2007, Nussle was appointed director of the White House Office of Management and Budget.

Mike Schenk has 35 years’ experience in the financial services industry. In 1992, he joined CUNA and is currently Deputy Chief Advocacy Officer for Policy Analysis and Chief Economist.
