When
The Cato Institute, CO2 Coalition, and Competitive Enterprise Institute will host friends and family for a reception to honor and celebrate the life of beloved colleague Patrick J. Michaels (February 15, 1950 – July 15, 2022).
Pat’s insight, humor, and optimism made him a perfect fit for CEI. His dedication to advancing truth and liberty in science and climate policy will continue to inspire his colleagues. Prior to joining CEI as a senior fellow, Pat was the Director of the Center for the Study of Science at the Cato Institute, a research professor at the University of Virginia for 30 years, the Virginia State Climatologist for 27 years, and president of the American Association of State Climatologists. Pat authored and coauthored nine books, and had various articles published in prominent scientific journals and news outlets. CEI’s Marlo Lewis describes Pat as, “a leading light of the climate realist movement and cheerful warrior for scientific integrity and individual liberty.”
Pamela Ferguson, Marlo Lewis, Brian Renzella, and Evan Sands of Old Town Tradition will play a selection of Pat’s favorite bluegrass, blues, folk, and Americana roots music.
