In Founder’s Fire: From 1776 to the Age of Trump, Arthur Herman details how American progress is driven by visionaries, risk-takers, builders, and rebels. From George Washington to Thomas Edison, Martin Luther King Jr., and even Donald Trump, these politically disruptive leaders have shaped the nation’s trajectory. Yet, innovation often gives way to bureaucracy until a new generation of founders emerges to challenge the status quo and drive renewal.
