When
On February 1st, in Brussels, the Alliance of Conservatives and Reformists in Europe (ACRE) will hold a one-day seminar looking at how to best improve our environment using market mechanisms; the innovation that comes from capitalism, and the natural sense of trusteeship that is part of Burkean conservatism. Environmentalism, and the world we live in, are altogether too important to be left to the Left.
Myron Ebell will be speaking in a panel continuing the discussion of the power of private ownership to inspire the sustainable management of natural resources. This panel will explore the power in the processes of the market itself; particularly the ways in which private ownership can incentivize sustainable stewardship – and the “Tragedy of the Commons” that awaits its absence. Other trusteeship-based market concepts such as natural capital, carbon trading schemes and catch-shares will also be discussed here. Register for this event here.
