When
2nd Session: The Economics of Regulation—Energy, Work, and Finance
Iain Murray, Competitive Enterprise Institute
11:00am-12:15pm
For thirty-two years Aix-en-Provence, with the Summer University of the New Economics, has been the “rendez-vous” for outstanding faculty and participants coming from around the globe – all sharing a strong interest for classical liberal ideas. Since 1989 IES-Europe has been part of this gathering, supporting students and young scholars in their intellectual journey.
In 2016, IES-Europe will bring back the spirit of these meetings to life and invite people from all over Europe and beyond to join distinguished speakers from the fields of economics, philosophy, history, and law, for what will be IES-Europe first edition of an open summer seminar that will mix intellectual stimulation with friendship in a sunny and convivial atmosphere.
In a time of political turbulence and the rise of extreme ideologies in the world, this event is a perfect place to discuss in detail the visions for the future of Europe that are being proposed by Brussels and national governments; and to better articulate an alternative vision based on limited government and liberty.
