Regardless of who takes the Oval Office in January, when it comes to finance and investing, we expect to see major fights over environmental, social, and governance (ESG) policies, climate-change regulation, and the use of government authority over markets to advance unrelated policy objectives. Major Biden administration rules from the Securities and Exchange Commission and Department of Labor, for example, are already being challenged in federal court.

Join CEI Senior Fellow Richard Morrison and Research Fellow Stone Washington in conversation about the coming threats and opportunities in financial regulation. They will examine what policies a president can enact both independent of Congress and with a unified government in D.C. In addition, they will look at the policy battles going on with finance, climate, and diversity policies (both for and against) on the state level across the country.

When: Wednesday, September 4, 2024, 12:30 – 2:00 pm

Where: Union League Club, 38 E 37th Street, New York, NY 10016
