Tevi Troy’s forthcoming The Power and the Money is the definitive story of the relationships between presidents of the United States and the pioneering CEOs – John D. Rockefeller, J.P. Morgan, Henry Ford, Henry Luce, Lew Wasserman, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, and Elon Musk, among others – who shaped American society from outside the halls of power. Taking us behind the scenes on our screens, the book also tells a larger story of the deepening entanglement of big government and big business – with both sides increasingly unpopular with the American people.
