Bureaucrash and the “Demand Debate” Campaign Crash Live Earth New York

Washington, D.C., July 9, 2007—This weekend pro-freedom activists from the Bureaucrash Activist Network teamed up with DemandDebate to infiltrate the New York Live Earth concert sponsored by former Vice President Al Gore. Armed with t-shirts, beach balls and airplane-towed banners, they encouraged the attendees to reject the so-called “consensus” on global warming policy, and demand a broader debate on government policies on climate change.

“Crashing Live Earth New York was about opening up the debate on an important issue – one which often gets a one-sided treatment, particularly in government schools,” said Jason Talley, Bureaucrash Crasher-in-Chief. “We wanted to let the Live Earth audiences know that there’s more to the climate change debate than Al Gore’s questionable predictions.”

Activists stationed themselves both in and outside the venue, tossing beach balls with the “Demand Debate” theme into the crowd and handing out t-shirts to interested attendees with the phrase “I’m more concerned about the intellectual climate.” In addition, the message was seen high about the crowd on aerial banners with text such as “DON’T BELIEVE AL GORE – DEMAND DEBATE.COM.”

DemandDebate’s activities were coordinated by author, columnist and professional debunker of junk science, Steven Milloy. “DemandDebate educates and empowers parents and students about bias in environmental education,” said Milloy.
