CEI Comments on EPA Methane Rule

Today the EPA released its methane rule for new oil and gas production and also started soliciting public comment on regulating existing production. The agency claims these “commonsense standards” are the first step on the path to regulate existing oil and gas operations.

Myron Ebell of CEI responded, “If these ‘commonsense standards’ for the EPA’s methane rule are anything like the ‘commonsense standards’ used for their power plant rules, we’re in for another long battle of correcting the agency’s mistakes.”
