CEI Named a Finalist for Weyrich Awards

WASHINGTON, D.C., Feb. 4, 2013 – The Competitive Enterprise Institute has been named a finalist for the Weyrich Awards in the category of “Grassroots Organization of the Year.” The award winners will be announced at a dinner in March.

The annual Weyrich Awards are given in honor of conservative icon Paul Weyrich, who served as the first president of the Heritage Foundation and who later founded the American Legislative Exchange Council. Weyrich passed away in 2008.

According to the Weyrich Awards Dinner website, the awards are meant to recognize “those who have made a major contribution to advancing the cause of liberty through organizations and media and whose work reflects beliefs, principles and convictions that are harmonious with Paul’s own values.”
