EPA Wise to Reject Activists’ Proposed Chlorpyrifos Ban Based on Junk Science

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) today announced it rejected a petition by green activists to ban chlorpyrifos, an important pesticide farmers rely on for assisting with food production.  

CEI senior fellow Angela Logomasini said: 

“The EPA was wise to again reject the activist petition to ban the pesticide chlorpyrifos because it was based on junk science that the agency’s own Science Advisory Panel found not useful for drawing conclusions. Moreover, farmers should not be denied access to this product based on this junk science, particularly since they need it to protect the very crops Americans rely on to provide a safe and affordable food supply.”
