High Tech Expert Joins CEI
Washington, DC, February 2, 2000 – The Competitive Enterprise Institute announced today that Jessica Melugin has joined the staff as a Policy Analyst. Prior to this position, Melugin worked at the Pacific Research Institute in San Francisco, CA.
“Jessica is a great addition to the CEI staff,” commented CEI President Fred L. Smith, Jr. “Increasingly, we’ve focused on the high-tech issues – taxation, encryption, and antitrust. Jessica will add great strength to all.”
Ms. Melugin graduated magna cum laude from Claremont McKenna College in 1999, with a degree in government and art history. Her honors thesis explored the development of American antitrust law as it pertains to the Microsoft trial. She had her first taste of policy research through an internship at CEI in the summer of 1998.
Ms. Melugin has previously written about antitrust and high-tech for the Ventura County Star (CA), the San Diego Union Tribune and Scripps Howard News Service. In addition, the San Francisco Chronicle quoted Melugin in a recent article about these issues.
