The Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI) is pleased to announce that Jeremy Lott is joining the organization as Managing Editor. In that role, he will oversee the publication process at CEI and serve as the primary editor for OpenMarket, CEI’s blog for policy analysis. This will be Jeremy’s second stint at CEI. He was the Warren T. Brookes Journalism Fellow from 2006 to 2007.

Jeremy returns to CEI from The Center Square newswire, where he was the regional editor for Washington state, editing reporters covering the statehouse and other important state news. Previously, Jeremy founded three websites for the Real Clear Politics organization.

He has also authored several books, including “The Warm Bucket Brigade: The Story of the American Vice Presidency,” and published articles in more than 1,000 outlets on subjects ranging from computer chips to capitalism to comic books.

Jeremy holds a Bachelor of Arts from Trinity Western University in British Columbia, Canada. He is married with two children and lives in northwest Washington state.

“CEI is thrilled to welcome Jeremy Lott back as our managing editor,” said CEI Vice President for Strategy Iain Murray. “He is a talented editor, writer, and author who already has deep knowledge of and a passion for what we do here at CEI: reforming America’s unaccountable regulatory state. We look forward to working with Jeremy to improve how we communicate our ideas to policymakers, allies and adversaries, and the American public.”

“This feels like coming home,” Jeremy said. “I love CEI: both its mission and its culture, which dares to have fun while fighting for a smaller, better government. It will be a real thrill to work with, and break bread with, so many old colleagues again.”
