Global Warming Petition Project (Letter to the Editor)

To THE EDITORS:

John B. Judis attacks as “patently false” the statement in our radio ads that “thousands of scientists agree that there’s no solid evidence of a global warming problem:’ In his view, this statement is not even based on “biased or inaccurate scientific research”; instead, he characterizes it as “purely a statement of business self-interest!’

In fact, it’s Judis’s charge that is patently false. The Global Warming Petition Project has collected more than 17,000 signatures from American scientists who agree that there “is no convincing scientific evidence” that human activities will cause either catastrophic heating or climate disruption. The petition has its own website (www.oism.org/pproject) and has received widespread press coverage. Had Judis bothered to contact us, let alone investigate our statement, he would easily have discovered this.
